Why venetian

Tilt the light, do not just block it

A venetian blind is the only common blind that lets you keep the daylight and lose the sightline at the same time. Tilting the slats sends the light up onto the ceiling and keeps the room bright while nobody can see in, which is why they suit front rooms and street-facing kitchens.

Our venetian blind fitting covers aluminium, real wood and faux wood. Wood suits a living room or a study and looks the part; faux wood is the sensible choice anywhere damp, because real timber slats will bow over a kitchen sink or in a bathroom.

25mm, 50mm or wood

A 25mm aluminium slat is neat in a small window and easy to keep clean. 50mm wood and faux wood read much softer across a large window and are the ones people mean when they say the room feels warmer with blinds up.

Before you book

The questions we get asked most, answered plainly.

Fitting is included in the price we quote, and the quote follows the free measure rather than a guess over the phone.

Faux wood is, real wood is not. Timber slats absorb moisture and bow. Faux wood looks close enough and stays flat, which is why we fit it in bathrooms and over kitchen sinks.

Close them flat and run a duster or a damp cloth along the slats one way, then tilt the other way and do the same. It takes a couple of minutes a window and is the whole maintenance job.

Often yes, using a perfect fit frame that clips into the rubber beading. It also means the blind moves with the window when you open it, which people like on a tilt-and-turn.
